Since the Gainesville Hurricanes was founded in 2010, its mission and focus as a non-profit club has been to provide expanded opportunities for youth to play and enjoy the game of basketball, support the development of character, sportsmanship and advance the visibility of youth basketball in Gainesville, Va. as well as the surrounding areas. We have continued to grow over the years to expand beyond, just AAU teams, but to offer training clinics tournaments, 3v3 Shootouts as well as the addition of the Hurricanes Crossover League.

We focus not only on the development of the players, but for our coaches as well.  All Hurricanes AAU/Travel coaches must complete the VHSL and NFHS coaching curriculum.  This is the same training that High School coaches must complete.  Our travel teams also subscribe to all AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) guidelines and are required to become members of the AAU.

Support the Hurricanes at Haymarket Day

The Gainesville Hurricanes are proud sponsors of this year Haymarket day on 9/17.

Be sure to visit for great activities and events and don't miss out on seeing your Hurricanes represented in this years parade!

Also be sure to stop by booth 154 to visit us!

We will also be accepting Winter Crossover Registrations on site!

Winter Crossover

***ATTENTION HURRICANES NATION***

Registration is open for the 3rd Annual Winter Crossover league!

The crossover league is a Prince William County sanctioned community use league.  Crossover is designed to develop and prepare student athletes for AAU/Travel basketball by transitioning to playing by the Virginia High School rules rather than the modified house league rules.  This means players will learn different defensive and offensive formations (such as how to break a full court press).  Players are divided among the teams to create a competitive environment and play up to 10 games.

Player assessments are held in October, practices start in November and games start in December.  The season is scheduled to finish with an end of season tournament in January.

Registration is currently open for boys grades 1st through High School and for girls 3rd through High School. Registration closes on September 30th however spots are limited.

Player participation fee is $150, which includes uniform, t-shirt, practices and games.  Volunteer coaches can receive an additional discount.
